Solutions · Data Parsing

Raw instrument output.
Structured results. Automatically.

LISBridge reads ASTM E1394, HL7 v2.x, and custom instrument protocols in real time — validating, deduplicating, and forwarding clean data to your HIS without any manual step.

How It Works

From raw bytes to clean records

Every result goes through four stages — automatically, in under 50 milliseconds.

01

Raw instrument output arrives

Your analyser finishes a run and sends a stream of characters — ASTM frames, HL7 segments, or its own proprietary format — over serial or TCP. LISBridge receives every byte.

02

The WASM parser identifies and decodes

The built-in WebAssembly parser instantly recognises the instrument and protocol, then breaks the stream into structured records: patient ID, test codes, numeric results, units, reference ranges, and flags.

03

Validation and deduplication

Every record is checked for completeness and consistency. Instruments sometimes re-send the same result after a timeout — duplicate detection catches those silently so your HIS never receives double entries.

04

Clean data delivered to your HIS

Structured, validated results are forwarded to your Hospital Information System or LIMS automatically. No manual step. No copy-paste. No transcription risk.

Supported Protocols

Three protocols. Every instrument.

LISBridge ships with built-in parsers for each protocol — no configuration, no manual mapping.

ASTM E1394

Most common

The industry-standard protocol for haematology and chemistry analysers. LISBridge handles ENQ/ACK handshaking, multi-frame messages, record types (H, P, O, R, L), and result flags exactly as each manufacturer implements them — quirks included.

HL7 v2.x

Instrument-native HL7

Some instruments speak HL7 natively — they send ORU^R01 messages directly over RS-232 or TCP/IP. LISBridge parses these HL7 streams in real time and forwards the structured results to your HIS.

Custom & Proprietary

Manufacturer-specific

Some instruments send data in formats that are neither standard ASTM nor HL7 — Biomerieux VIDAS, Siemens Dimension, and DIATRON Abacus all use proprietary frame structures. LISBridge includes dedicated parsers for each, built into the WASM module and updated silently.

Why It Matters

What you get from accurate parsing

The parser is invisible when it works perfectly — which is always.

⚡

Real-time, not batched

Results are parsed and forwarded as each run completes — not collected and uploaded in bulk. Clinicians see data the moment the instrument finishes.

🔁

Hot-swap updates, no restart

The parser is a WebAssembly module pulled from the CDN every 15 minutes. When we add or fix a protocol, your running app picks it up silently — no downtime, no IT call.

🛡️

Duplicate detection built in

Instruments re-transmit when they don't receive an ACK. LISBridge tracks message IDs and timestamps so your HIS never gets the same result twice.

📴

Offline-capable

Parsing runs entirely on your local machine. If your internet connection drops, the instrument keeps sending and LISBridge keeps parsing — nothing is lost.

🔍

Flags and reference ranges preserved

Abnormal flags (H, L, *, !) and instrument-set reference ranges are carried through to your HIS exactly as the instrument reported them.

📋

Full audit log

Every parsed result is stored locally with its raw source, timestamp, and delivery status. You can always trace exactly what was received and when.

🔍

The raw frame is kept, and you can read it

The exact ASTM or HL7 frame the instrument produced is stored alongside the parsed result and displayed next to it. When someone asks six weeks later where a value came from, you show the frame — not a log entry claiming it arrived. This is the traceability that auditable lab data, and any AI built on top of it, actually depends on.

🔗

Custom parameter mapping

Your analyser calls it WBC-B. Your LIS calls it something else. Map any instrument parameter to any LIS field yourself, in the app — no custom programming, no vendor support ticket, no waiting for a release.

Parser updates are completely silent

When a manufacturer changes their output format, we update the WASM module. Your running app picks it up automatically in the next 15-minute check cycle — no restart, no user action, no IT ticket.
