1. Introduction
LISBridge is a desktop middleware application (built with Tauri and Rust) that connects laboratory instruments to Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and LIMS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our web platform at lisbridge.com, how we use it, and how we protect it.
The LISBridge desktop application processes all instrument data — including patient samples and test results — entirely on your local device. This data is never transmitted to LISBridge servers.
2. What We Collect
Account Information
- Full name and email address
- Hashed password (never stored in plain text)
- Organisation name (optional)
Subscription & Billing
- Subscription plan, status, and renewal dates
- Payment method details — processed and stored by Stripe; we never see your full card number
- Transaction history and invoices
Device & Licensing
- Machine identifier — a hash derived from your hardware, used to bind a license key to a specific device
- Device name and operating system
- License activation and revocation timestamps
- Number of active devices on your account
Usage Data
- Pages visited on lisbridge.com
- Browser type and version (from standard HTTP headers)
- Approximate country or region (derived from IP address; not stored beyond the request)
3. What We Don't Collect
- Patient names, dates of birth, or any personally identifiable health information
- Laboratory test results, sample IDs, or diagnostic findings
- Raw ASTM E1394 or HL7 instrument messages
- HIS or LIMS connection credentials and endpoint URLs configured in the desktop app
- Any data from your internal hospital or laboratory network
4. How We Use Your Data
- Account management — creating and maintaining your subscription, sending login and verification emails via Zoho SMTP.
- License management — validating device activations using machine ID and HMAC-SHA256, enforcing subscription limits, issuing and revoking license keys.
- Billing — processing payments via Stripe, issuing invoices, and handling renewals or cancellations.
- Software updates — authenticating WASM parser module download requests using HMAC-SHA256. No personal data is transmitted in this process.
- Support — responding to contact form submissions and dashboard support tickets.
- Affiliate program — tracking referrals and calculating commissions for the LISBridge partner network.
- Legal compliance — retaining transaction records as required by applicable law.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following providers to operate the LISBridge platform. Each has its own privacy policy.
6. Affiliate & Partner Data
If you participate in the LISBridge affiliate or reseller program, we additionally collect:
- Your referral code and referral relationships (who you referred, who referred you)
- Commission amounts and payment status
- Tier designation — Agent, Distributor, or Reseller
- Bank or payment account details for commission payouts (stored securely, used only for withdrawal processing)
7. Data Retention
- Account data — retained while your account is active; deleted within 90 days of closure on request.
- Billing records — retained for 7 years as required for financial and tax compliance.
- Device records — retained until you revoke the device or close your account.
- Support tickets — retained for 2 years after closure.
- Desktop app data — stored locally on your device. Default retention is 30 days (configurable; set to 0 to keep forever). You control this entirely — we have no access to it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, as well as to object to or restrict certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email at the address on your account.
